Ethiopia has a population of more than 9+ crore population & as per WHO more than 40 lakh population is blind due to cataract. To avoid this kind of blindness, our club decided to supply 10 phaco machines to 10 regions of Ethiopia. As of now the whole country has only 1 phaco machines. Its of great pride that our country will be supporting another country. We have a tripartite agreement between our Club, RC Addis abba Entoto & Health Ministry of Ethiopia. 7 RI Dists i.e. 4 from Finland & 3 from Korea has supported this grant. The grant value is of USD 122,250. We have sent our contribution & will be handing over the phaco machines to the Consulate General of Ethiopia on 27th June, 2016
