Established on 13th June 1989 (Charter) Rotary club of Nigdi-Pune is a member of Rotary International one of the largest NGO's in the world having 1.2 million members and presence in our 200 countries (www.rotary.org). With more than 85 members belonging to various professions like chartered accountants, medical practitioners, Architects, investment consultants, small and medium scale industrialists, educationists, builders and merchants. It is one of the largest and most happening social service clubs in the thriving industrial community of Pimpri Chinchwad in the state of Maharashtra, India. The Rotary club of Nigdi-Pune Charitable trust- A not for profit foundation managed by the club members has been engaged in social service projects aimed at serving the local and global community. Some of the important service projects undertaken by the trust are - Happy Village project at Shelkewadi, pimploli. Water storage tank for a Hivere village, Junnar. Donation of computers to Schools Water Pumping project at Village Bhoire Donation of Braille printing machine for school for blind in Alandi. Donation of Phacho emulsification machine for cataract surgeries to Jijamata Hospital. Donation of Optical microscope to Talera Hospital. Construction of Check Dam at Village Adley. Plantation of 8000 trees at Adley and Ovhale Village. Donation of food stuffs for Mid day meals through our project Ek Mutthi Anaaj. Eye care project covering more than free eye checkups free cataract surgeries, distribution of free spectacles to school children and administration of free vitamin 'A' doses. Organization of Rotary Inter School sports festival for more than 1200 athletes under 14 years of age. Polio Eradication campaign and polio corrective surgeries. ROTARY CLUB OF NIGDI MEETS AT ROTARY COMMUNITY CENTRE ON EVERY FRIDAY BETWEEN 7.00 PM TO 8.30 PM
