Due to the pandemic situation and the resultant lockdown, many people are not able to manage two square meals a day. They are essentially workers, old and destitute citizens, and children. As a social group we felt it is our duty to feed the truly homeless who are starved in this city. This acute problem was highlighted by Rtn. Usha. The Trust has therefore decided that we will feed at least 100 people each day with sumptuous food weighing 500 gms. Each day for the month of May, 2021 viz. from 1st May to 31st May. Accordingly, we made an appeal to the club members. Rtn. Hardip offered to cook 100 meals every day in her kitchen for the entire month at only raw material cost basis. Rtn. Rakesh offered to take charge of distribution to the needy. 12 members came forward and contributed Rs. 2.8 lacs to cover the cost of this campaign. In total, 13 members are involved so far in distribution. We have so far distributed about 625 packets of food to the needy. We look forward for some more members to volunteer for distribution.
