Human Milk Bank..Yashoda Mother's Milk Bank..Ambitious on going Global Grant Project of R.C.Nigdi.-Pune in collaboration with Dr D.Y.Patil Medical College Pimpri. It's $66000 project. State of the art infrastructure, Advanced equipments like Automatic pasteuriser,sonicator ,lamellar flowmachine. In this milk bank, Healthy mothers are counselled for exclusive breast feeding and donation of milk. They are screened for Hep B, HIV, Syphilis etc and examined for any other acute or chronic infections. Informed written consent from mothers is taken. Milk donation is accepted on voluntary basis. Milk is expressed by all aseptic precautions through Electronic Breast Pumps. Milk is pasteurized and sent for lab testing - culture of organisums. Culture negative safe milk is ready for distribution. It is given for needy newborns after written informed consent from their parents. R.C.Nigdi also celebrates "Breast Feeding Week" every year from 1st August to 7 the August in many hospitals of PimpriChinchwad area . In this week we pramote & support exclusive Breast Feeding. This year we are donating Milk Collection/Distribution Van Yadhoda Amrutvahini to Dr.D.Y.Patil Medical College of worth 6 lakhs with interior as per requirement to benefit poor needy children in peripheral area .
