1 Name of the Project POLIO CAPS PROJECT 2 Need Assessment. Need to publicize the NIDs and spread awareness about importance of eradication of Polio. 3 Beneficiaries. 8000 GIRLS participated in the event. 4 Number of Rotarians participated and involved. 8 Rotarians including District officers actively participated in this project. 5 Help Provided Free 8000 Polio caps were provided to the students. These caps were provided by the Polio committee Delhi. We were greatly assisted by the District Police. 6 Status of the Project The project was a one day project completed on 3rd January 2014. 7 Details in brief: On the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Savitribai Phule, the event “Kishori Melawa” was organised on 3/01/2014 at Nehru Stadium Pune. It was attended by important political personalities like Mrs. Supriya Sule,Mayor of Pune, Election Department chief of Pune was the chief guest of the programme. 8000 Girl Students participated in the event. Our Club provided caps to these students having the Logo of “ROTARY” 8 Enhancement of Public Image and Publicity in Community. Excellent media coverage as the photos along with the caps appeared in all Newspapers including National Dailies like Indian Express, Loksatta, Sakal, Maharashtra Times etc
