This morning RC Nigdi conducted a Press Meet to promote Runathon at Doubletree by Hilton. Delighted to share that more than 33 journalists attended the press meet. President Pranita spoke about Rotary, our club and our key projects Ankaji gave an overview of Runathon as an event and all race details for 25th Sept Then we had guest speakers as below; 1. Alka Karkare represented Enpro which has been involved since the beginning, and how employees across the company bond over practice runs and prepare for Runathon every year. 2. Dr Balasaheb Hodgar, Akurdi Hospital spoke about how RC Nigdi worked efficiently to commission Neonatal ICU at the hospital and how it has already benefited many premature babies. 2. Santosh Dhokale from Karandi village first embarrassed president by touching her feet and then went on the stage full of emotions, greatly appreciating our club for all the wonderful work we have done for Karandi last year. 3. Vaibhav Thombare in 2 minutes articulated his fitness journey that started with Runathon (his first race when he was 103kg). From this humble start he is now a Full Iron Man. 4. Rahul Waghmare, Zonal Manager Bank Maharashtra spoke about how grateful they were to know the funds were used for worthy causes. BoM also sponsored gifts for journalists today. Thanks to PP Ravi Rajapurkar. 5. Doubletree GM Vinay Nair spoke about their long association with Runathon and how it is a pleasure for them to overload us with cookies ? every year. We then had unveiling of bibs and PE Harbindar gave vote of thanks. Our newest member Shravan and his team worked tirelessly to make this meet a success. We covered a lot in this short sharp press meet. Now fingers crossed for a wider coverage that gets more registrations and more and more funds for our Trust!!!
